Assembly and Rallies: 3D Student Reach
Rallies can be boring and repetitive, but not at Futures. The Futures Leadership Team works hard and tries their best to make rallies entertaining for the students of Futures High. They spend hours planning rallies and activities that will have the students engaged and interested. We owe a huge thank you to our ASB President, Serge Komzyuk, and his amazingly creative team.
The Leadership Team does put a lot of effort into organizing rallies. However, sometimes rallies aren’t organized by the Leadership team, but they are equally as good.
The September rally at Futures featured a non-profit organization “Student Reach”. They are a regular guest at Futures High School and come annually with their unforgettable, renowned 3D assembly. The Student Reach team travels to schools across the US to deliver their anti-bullying message. Most of the team members have gone through difficult moments and situations in life and have breathtaking stories to tell.
“Our Assemblies immerses students into tough topics using a 42ft video wall and motivational storytelling. Exciting 3D videos allows students to be focused and engaged. Students are moved from a place of watching and listening, to participating and contributing.” say Student Reach members.
Besides the 3D assembly, Student Reach also has many programs and events available including the Mr. Awesome Assembly for elementary children and they Say Something Assembly. Student Reach communicates with people of all ages. They come with testimonies and advice to children in kindergarten and the sixth grade, pre-teens and teens in middle and high school, and adults in college. The Student Reach also offers a leadership development camp available for teens and young adults. The Student Reach members are truly passionate to make a change in the world.
In addition to working with average students, Student Reach also works with at-risk, homeless, and refugee youth. Student Reach members and volunteers work with more than at-risk, homeless, or refugee youth each week.
“Our coaches challenge and equip students to develop life skills and life plans.” says the StudentReach website, http://www.studentreach.org/ .
Student Reach is determined to change people's’ lives. In fact, you can help them. You can volunteer at Student Reach and go on a trip with them on Spring Break or in the Summer.
According to StudentReach, “When you volunteer on a StudentReach trip you can count on it being fun, challenging, eye opening, and rewarding. StudentReach offers life altering humanitarian trips you can be a part of every year.”
“StudentReach Expedition Baja is more than just building a house and going to the beach – it's about changing lives. In one week you will have traveled 200 miles south of the Mexican border, had an awesome beach party, eaten A LOT of tacos, and hiked a volcano (don’t worry it's dormant). But, the most amazing thing you will experience is giving a family, who has been living with little to nothing, the keys to their brand new home.” states StudentReach.
Student Reach is an incredible non-profit organization that promotes anti-bullying, helps develop leadership skills, works with the homeless, and builds houses for poor families in Mexico.
