Student Voice: 5 Ways to Make School Mornings Less Stressful

Sometimes the hardest part of the day is just getting up and getting to where you need to be. When we get up we can be so stressed, we just want to go back to bed and wake up later. Thankfully, there are many ways to help with this.

One way to help with this is to do everything the night before. Before you go to sleep, put your homework into your backpack and put your backpack next to the door so you can just grab it on your way out in the morning. Also, getting your outfit together the night before saves a lot of time and helps eliminate stress.

The second thing that helps is to get up earlier. The earlier you get up, the less stressed you’ll be and you won’t have to be rushing to put everything together.

Another thing that can make mornings less stressful is to play some music. Playing music will put you into a better mood and can help you get ready faster.

The fourth thing that can help is keeping your (home) items organized. If the items you use in the morning aren’t organized then you’ll be rushing to find them and that will take up a lot of time so it’s best to just put them where you know they’ll always be.

The final thing that can help is to get plenty of rest and going to bed early. Getting all your rest will give you a clear head and you’ll be able to get out of the door faster and with a lot less stress.

There are many things that can help eliminate morning stress such doing these simple and small things: doing everything the night before, getting up earlier, playing music, keeping morning items organized, and getting your full rest.
