Student Voice: A Day in the Life - Monday Morning Rush
A day in my life on a Monday goes like this: I hear my mom calling me to wake up. I turn on my bed and see the clock flashing 7:42. ¨Oh no!¨ I yell. ¨I´m going to be so late!¨ I jump off my bed, grab my toothbrush and run to the bathroom. After brushing my teeth, I encounter my real struggle: choosing out an outfit to wear. I end up throwing on whatever and run down my stairs.
I grab some coffee, trip over my brother's legos, fall, and spill all of my coffee on my shirt. ¨Frick!¨ I say as I run back up the stairs to pull on another shirt. By the time I get to school, I look like an absolute mess. My hair is super messy and full of tangles. I just realize that my shirt has a lot of wrinkles and I ran out in my house slippers. I have no makeup on and look like I haven't slept for a whole week.
I get to my first period and realize this was going to be one of those days where everyone is on my last nerve. Classes go by slower than ever and every teacher decides they want to assign a week's worth of homework for today. My friends act more stupid than usual and by the time lunch comes around I remember I forgot my sandwich on my kitchen table.
The rest of my school day goes and doesn't get any better. My sister picks me up and takes me to In-N-Out. The rest of my evening goes by a lot better. I take a long nap and my mood gets a lot better. I realize every bad day has to end and a good day is just around the corner!
