Boys Basketball and Soccer
It has been a crazy busy week for the boys’ sports teams of Futures High School. Tuesday, the boys played a soccer home game against Western Sierra. The game was tense as players were sliding, tackling, and fighting for possession of each ball. The boys battled and battled, and at halftime, the score was 0-1, Western Sierra. Fortunately, the boys managed to prevail with a goal within minutes after halftime. The boys continued to work hard, and with an amazing knuckle ball from Nazar, the boys were leading 2-1 with only 10 minutes to play. With a spectacular defensive performance from the defense, the boys held out and beat Western Sierra 2-1.
The boys’ basketball team traveled to Rocklin to play Western Sierra Tuesday night. Though the boys were outsized, they fought. After the first quarter, Futures was winning by two points. At the half, they were losing by 6 points. The game was thought to be over when the score was 42-60 with four minutes left, but the boys didn't quit. With a great push, the boys scored another 17 points in only 4 minutes, but it wasn’t enough. The final score was 68-59.
